King Teddy

It's funny, when I think about Teddy Roosevelt, I can't imagine a better voice for him than Richard Dreyfuss... How the hell does that work?

man. i missed the freegin' 2 part series
on the history/tank channel. apparentyl,
the channel has some broadcast issue's
in my area. i get 75 and 77 not
76
.

i got home, skipped TKD for the night,
was ready to curl up w/ the VCR and got
bonged.

if you haven't done so, edmund morris
has a great book, teddy rex on the
pres. years. he also has a rough rider
series on the rise of teddy. i've read the
former and loved it. also, his dutch, the
reagan memiors
is quite excellent;
and written while reagan was in office.

the thought of TR chewing off sentances
gives me the chills.

I was a bit surprised at the choice.

Yeah, TR had a "reedy, squeeky" voice, but I don't think Mr. Holland was quite it. Not enough rumble, or something. It just never gelled while watching the series to see pictures of him and hear Dreyfuss. Otherwise, the series was pretty damn good.

I think more presidencies should include month long train tours through the west. Or, at the very least, Bush should go hunting, dammit. They keep getting pictures of him clearing land. C'mon. Before the cameras, you know damn well he had a double-barrel over one shoulder and a rack of antlers in the other.
