Damn Neo-Hippies.
I hate neo-hippies. They piss me off so much. Tree-huggin' freaks. Jebus Christo. ^_^ I see all these stupid signs saying things like, "No War" and the vomit provoking, "No War on Iraq. Pray for Peace". *cringe* Nothin' worse than religious neo-hippies. There was also a caller on 101.7 (or whatever) "The Buzz" who was someone protesting the war. She pissed me off. I woke up to that. Ugh. Shut up.
Today we turned in our rough drafts of our semiotic analysises....*giggle* that sounds silly. Anyway, yeah. We spent today doing peer editing. Oh how I loathe peer editing. *eye twitches* So, I was correcting a paper in class, and it was a pretty simple essay, no complex sentences or anything, which was ok. But I got this other girls paper and my god. Nothing made sense. There was NO thesis whatsoever, and no linking sentences. It was very Chaotic. I'm not saying my was a literary masterpiece, but come on. Then on my essay that she cretiqued, she wrote, "You could separate this to to sentences". She was 24. to...two...*shakes head*. Maybe it was a typo, but from what I saw from the rest, it could be a real error. I'm being very critical. Oh well. At least I don't say this to her face.
See! This is what's wrong with the peer editing thing. Nobody's going to be honest with you, and when they are, it's not that useful anyway!

You're just stuck dealing with incompetents. Wait till you get into a good univerity program, when the people doing peer reviews are actually worth a damn. Then it becomes editing. And, one day you'll realize, editors are our friends. A good one is worth their weight in gold.
Oh, and you're far from alone in hating those filthy Neo-Hippies. Not only are they irritating, but they give off a horrible odor from all the Tofu they use to nourish themselves. Vile creatures...
Yeah, I was in Donia's car today, and I started ranting about the damn signs I see everywhere, and she started to say that she was against the war. The conversation stopped there. My best friend is a neo-hippie. I'm so disappointed.
Sweet Jeebus in Valhalla. You didn't see that one coming? Come on, Donia is a proud hippy baby to the core. You couldn't have been surprised...
Well, I guess I wasn't too surprised, but I was still hoping that she would come out of it. But the hippie blood runs deep I guess.

im from puertorico and i have somehting to say about war and new hippies. first of all, i am a neo-hippie, i hate war, i hate killing. The reason for this is that your american leaders are stuck with using our puertorican bodies as armors, to protect your people. We do not have the right to vote for your president; yet, we can get killed protecting your families- the families that have oppressed us and arrived to our island thinking they were wanted when they were hated- eventually they took over and established camps thorughout the island to train your soldiers- killing puertoricans in the process- and now they want us to go fight a war that even the soldiers do not know what is the point of it. Understand new-hippies, its a movement of creating concience and it is the only movement that has the hope that this world will become a better place only if our leaers realize that life is life and that humans live to fullfill their personal goals, not that of their leaders (who they didnt even chose themselves). Think before you speak, read the paper but not only YOUR paper, watch the news (but not only CNN and FOX- watch whats really going on OUTSIDE YOUR BOUNDARIES- THAT IS THE PROBLEM WITH THE WORLD, people like YOU are ignoring the fact that there are other things happening outside the USA and that take for granted the lives of others- they too- have the right to live and criticize).
